Our English Resource Room/Reading room is finally getting going! We will receive donations soon from generous supporters in the US as well as here in China. The school has given us a room and stocked it with some tables and book shelves and some books have already arrived. We had our first "opening" last week when we took the students there for English Corner. Afterwards, the students said they wanted to have ALL the English Corner sessions there so they can read, ask questions and have conversations about the books!! There are only about 30 books available for them now, but more are on there way! The next steps are actually organizing the library, and getting it cleaned up and comfortable for the students!
The situations and experiences that take place in this blog are my own personal views and are in no way associated with Peace Corps as an organization.

Shawn's birthday party
It was my site mate, Shawn's, birthday this month. The students were so sweet and planned a party for him with a cake and everything. Apparently, after you eat the cake its customary to smear said cake all over each other's faces. I told my students that if they got any on my face then they were all getting bad grades!! Haha I guess they believed me, cause I was cake free at the end of the day, Shawn however was covered!
We've received some books for the English Library!
We received a box of book from Darien Book Aid for our library!!! The students are so excited! Our library is finally moving along!
