Chun Jie

My first semester teaching in China is over and another is about to begin. I'm going on 8 months in China now. It's pretty amazing. During my time off for Chun Jie (Spring Festival) I was able to travel a bit. I went with my student, and good friend, Sunshine, to her home in Da Zu, about an hour south of Chongqing City. It was one of the greatest experiences I have had in China so far. I lived for four days with her and her family in her home. She lives in the country side, in a very small village and it was an amazing experience to live without really all the comforts we are used to. No heat, no hot water, very little electricity, the toilet was a hole in the ground outside. But, they made it work, they made due and always were surrounded by friends and family. Life moved slower out there. It was peaceful :)

In the classroom!

This is my class of Tourism Sophomores. In the spirit of the Presidential election, we had our own class elections. The students were split into groups and then had to come up with at least five things they would do to help the school, and then have a campaign for why they would be the best candidate for class president. Here are the things they came up with :)
